Ten Crews through to Thursdays Racing

21 Mar
Day three was a cloudy, drizzly day and the water was lovely and flat with no wind, so good conditions for racing . Full results can be seen here
In The Under 18 doubles Greer Porter and Macy Toovey got knocked out in their repecharge despite a good effort. Macy also rowed well in her U18 single repecharge and finished 6th.
Sam Pearce and Quinn Curtis put in a monster finish to come 2nd in a time of 7.24 after one of the favourites, Otago Boys, in the U17 double repecharge, so they’re now through to the semi-final on Thursday at 12.10.
In the repecharge of the boys under 16 double, Quinn and Owen Lea rowed a really exciting race coming a very close third to miss out on the semi-finals by just a bow ball. This took them to the E final where they were 3rd.
In the quarter finals scheduled later Sam was 4th in the U17 single to qualify for the semis on Thursday morning at 9.38 and was 5th in the U18 singles, qualifying for the C final on Thursday afternoon at 14.06.
The girls maintained their composure in the singles with Rata Horan 2nd in her quarter final of the U16 single and Peta McKay finishing 3rd  in the Under 17 single, both qualifying for the semis on Thursday morning . Maggie Stiven just missed out on the semi’s coming 5th and will race the C Final tomorrow morning as well.
