Following the impressive results of the Under 16 squad, the novice squad at their first regatta showed some great promise.
The girls had a very eventful novice doubles event with high gusty winds in the middle of the day creating trying conditions which put the regatta on hold for an hour. With a variety of crews colliding, restarts and crews enjoying some very interesting steering and some capsizing it really was a case of survival of the fittest. Thankfully all crews finished safely and they can honestly say that they are now ready to face anything.
In the quad sculls they were 3rd and 7th in the B Final.
In the novice boys events, Quinn Curtis and Gary Poilvert were 6th in the A final with Owen Lea and Ethan Carleton 7th in B final. Quinn also teamed up with Under 16 sculler, Sam Pearce to come 6th in the A final.
Coxen Patrick Hartley had a busy day with back to back races in the girls, boys and masters crews pushing the Under 16 girls to their 3rd place.
