Maadi Day Two

20 Mar

More good results from The Mount Aspiring Crews at day two of the regatta. The wather conditions started to deteriorate mid day causing high winds to put the regatta on hold but the crews battled well against the conditions.

Peta McKay and Maggie Stiven had an awesome race in the Under 17 2x and placed 2nd taking them through to the quarter finals tomorrow.
The U16 double of Sammy Harry and Sophie Fenn came in 7th and made it through to the repecharge as well.
Quinn Curtis had a cracker of a race and placed 2nd in his singles – the wind came up during those singles so times got slower and slower.
Owen Lea had a tough singles race and rowed well with another PB time but was knocked out as 7th in his heat. His heat looked to be the fastest of the day so it was a real shame for him not to go through to the next round.
So wednesday and thursday are looking quite busy for our crews as they head out for more repecharges and quarter finals.
